Balaur De Vrede's Background

Balaur is youngest child of a noble family in Orinoco. He has two brothers and one sister. The family of De Vrede is firm and has good reputation. Many of the members are high priests. Because the family valued a good training Balaur was also sent to many fine schools.

The studies remained, however, short because Balaur was kicked out every school he was sent to. When Balaur was sixteen they sent him to the knights of Alhraed. There Balaur involved to the gambling, numerous duels and problems with the women. When he was 20 he killed in the duel the son of king Ba-Khor king and was forced flee back to his home for the anger of king.

At home in Orinoco Balaur met the noble maiden, Cleantha, who he had met few years before in Alhraed. Balaur fell in love and their love blossomed until Cleantha was promised to his brother. The Cleantha's family insisted that she had to marry Ladislau.

In order to preserve the honor of family, Balaur had to accept the marriage, but he never forgives to his brother. The loss of Cleantha however threw Balaur to despair. He started to the drink and gamble more than before involved to the matters of local thieves guild. Finally he was accused for the death of wizard Mikene and was sentenced to the mine.

Only five years managed to go when a group led by mysterious wizard attacked to the mine and released all prisoners. Balaur decided to disappear and spent next five years in professional gambler, mercenary and bodyguard. Now the time of hiding is over and he decided to go in Stoel.
